The StateTalking impact report 2025 has dropped!
Since we began in 2022 we have delivered 274 talks at 51 state schools in Manchester, Stockport, Bury, Tameside, Trafford, Bolton Oldham, Rochdale and Burnley.
We have now hit 13,800 student engagements. And none of this would have been possible without the dedication and endless enthusiasm of the 319 relatable speakers we have signed up.
Inside the report, you can read about how we bring relatable role models into Greater Manchester primary and secondary schools and sixth form colleges, raising the aspirations and attainment of state educated students.
Discover how we support schools to establish their own alumni networks, because their own former students are the very best relatable role models.
And find out about the free events we run for schools around key careers including law, finance and creative industries and how we help state schools to run their own inspiring careers guidance programmes.
Dr Sally Penni MBE, founder and CEO of Women In the Law UK and a Manchester barrister is a regular speaker with StateTalking. Writing for our Impact Report, she said:
“Young people need to hear real stories. Planting the seed early creates aspiration and acts as a catalyst for future career prospects.
“The legal professional needs to do more to become accessible to young people from all backgrounds and all kinds of schools.
“The work of StateTalking has offered remarkable inspiration to young people entering a vast number of different professions, including my own.”
