Connecting Manchester State Schools with Relatable Role Models
StateTalking connects State Schools across Manchester with relatable role models. It aims to open the eyes of Manchester’s future workforce to what’s possible for them in their city, broadening their horizons and inspiring them to achieve great things when they leave School. All talks are free. Schools can register for a talk here.

Mobilising Alumni Networks for Manchester state schools
We also support schools to mobilise their past pupil network so they can inspire young people with advice, give them confidence and motivation.
What Schools Say
State Talking has been really beneficial in helping us connect with outside speakers. We are always looking for different ways to inspire our pupils and enhance their careers education and State Talking has played a really important part in ensuring quality provision.
St James RC High School, Cheadle Hulme
We have found State Talking talks very beneficial to the school since they have opened our students’ eyes to the world beyond St Matthew’s. We often speak to them about becoming the ‘best version of themselves’ and the talks are a great example of explaining to them first-hand how they can achieve this.
