David Riding
David Riding is a Specialty Registrar in vascular surgery in the north west of England, having graduated from the University of Manchester.
He has a Masters degree in Surgical Education from Imperial College, and was recently awarded a PhD from the University of Manchester. He has extensive teaching experience in the UK and Uganda, and in 2018 he was elected to the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh where he also led the Trainees’ Committee. As part of that role, David was part of the team that launched an anti-bullying campaign that was subsequently nominated for BMJ and Health Service Journal awards. He continues to lead the College’s work on sustainable surgery.
In his spare time he enjoys running, cycling, hill walking and music. He is a fervent supporter of his home town football team, Blackburn Rovers, which has taught him to remain optimistic and patient.
