A group of Manchester students enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of a local bedding manufacturer and even went home with a brand new pillow each.
StateTalking arranged for GCSE business studies students from Abraham Moss Community School in Crumpsall to visit Comfy Group, a major manufacturer of pillows, duvets, toppers and bed linen.
Twelve students from year 10 accompanied the school careers lead Kathy Pickard to the production facility in nearby Middleton, Rochdale.
After hearing about the different job roles within the business, pupils were invited to ask questions about the family business and then enjoyed a factory tour
Kathy said: “We really enjoyed our trip to Comfy. Meeting people who loved their jobs was inspiring for pupils.
“The tour was the highlight for most students. It was interesting to see how everything works. Comfy were excellent hosts and the pupils felt comfortable enough to ask lots of questions. I would love to visit in the future with a new group.”
