Life sciences demo speaks to young hearts and minds

Jonathan Hedwat really got the blood pumping when he paid a visit to St Marys RC Primary in Levenshulme.

Head of biology at Cheadle Hulme School, Jonathan treated final year pupils at the Manchester school to a hands-on demo of how the heart works – truly capturing the hearts and minds of future scientists.

Having taught biology at schools around Greater Manchester and Lancashire for the past 20 years, Jonathan’s love of the subject shone through and was reflected in the reception he received in the classroom.

He said: “It was an absolute pleasure to speak with the brilliant Year 6 students at St Mary’s.

“Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and thoughtful questions made the session so rewarding. A big thank you to StateTalking Manchester for the opportunity – moments like this are exactly why outreach matters.”
