Stockport GCSE students spent an afternoon with a top business coach during National Apprenticeship Week thanks to StateTalking.
Matthew Easton talked with a group of Year 11s from Bramhall High School about what they should be doing to give themselves the best chance to pass their GCSEs.
He also spoke to the Pupil Premium students about his own career, including what it was like to live in Toronto, Dubai and London. Other subjects he touched on included how both exam results and building strong relationships can open doors, how to develop a growth mindset and why you should never stop learning.
Writing afterwards on LinkedIn, Matthew, who trades as MJ Easton Coaching & Consulting, said: “Thank you for having me, it was an absolute pleasure to spend some time with your pupils and I wish them all every success in their upcoming GCSEs.”
Kay Thorpe, associate assistant headteacher and careers lead at the school, said: “Matthew captured students’ from the very beginning and created a positive, energetic learning environment. His delivery was excellent and he had outstanding engagement with the students.
“It was a genuine pleasure to welcome him into our school, and we are grateful for the time, enthusiasm and expertise he shared with our learners.”
