Jamie Watson, Managing Director - Pixel8

Jamie Watson

The grown-up phase: For the past ten years, I have built an award-winning marketing agency based in the northern quarter of Manchester called Pixel8. I am working with hotel chains, retailers, education; the work spans graphic design and digital marketing, acting as an extension of the clients’ marketing team.

The entrepreneurial phase: I spent ten years starting and trying to build businesses, including a fresh food chain, serviced apartments and an eCommerce business.

The early phase: Having worked in the family retail business from a very young age (first overall had to be handmade), I did a degree in retail marketing, followed by working with the board at Iceland Frozen Foods and then worked at Sainsbury’s looking after the supermarket website.

I’ve gained work experience in America working for a convenience store chain, and I’m currently back studying for a masters in digital marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University.

I’m a rubbish runner, swimmer and cyclist, successfully coming in the bottom 10% of five triathlons over the past three years
